Paul Bello is currently the Vice President in charge of Corporate Finance and Investment
in Belemaoil Producing Limited, an indigenous oil and gas producing company. Prior to his current role, he was the CFO and Head of Finance and Accounts, Budget and Performance Management of the same company from 2018 to 2024.
Paul has over 29 years of work experience spanning banking operations and financial services, financial reporting, risk management, auditing and control, treasury, funds and investment portfolio management including oil and gas joint venture accounting.
He started his career in Zenith International Bank in mid-1990s before moving to Platinum Bank/Bank PHB where he rose to management level. He also served in senior management roles both in Diamond Bank and Standard Chartered Bank before moving to oil and gas sector in 2018 as a management executive in charge of Finance and Accounts, Budget and Performance of the Joint Venture.
He holds a B.Sc. degree (First Class Honours) in Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, an M.Sc. degree in General Management from University of Lagos, master’s in business administration (MBA Finance and Accounting) University of Ibadan and M.Sc. in Economics from University of Port Harcourt. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession with Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria [ICAN], associate member of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and an alumnus of London School of Economics (LSE) with certificate in Financial Analysis and management Accounting.
